With a post on the social media accounts of the band, it was announced that Heaven Shall Burn canceled their performance at Rock am Ring for a problem with Marcus Bischoff’s vocals. A translation of the statement can be read here.
Hi everyone. We still have no idea what just happened and we want to be honest with you about what we know so far and what the current situation is. We had to cut our performance at Rock am Ring short after just one song because our singer Marcus injured his neck. He is on his way to the hospital right now to get the matter checked out. It is really breaking our hearts, and especially his, to leave you standing there after the heavy rain and the clearing evening sky. Everything was set up for a mega energy explosion. Everything went perfectly, Marcus didn’t have the slightest problem during the warm-up. We have never experienced anything like this before and are devastated. But we are also absolutely blown away by your support, your understanding and your solidarity, which immediately caught us and surrounded us in this situation. We would love to throw our arms around each and every one of the people in front of the stage, none of whom even remotely complained but who instead cheered us on with chants. We’re crying with sadness, but also with the bitter joy of having such fans and supporters. We’ll let you know as soon as there’s any news. Your HSB guys.
