Hatebreed might be making a significant comeback to their origins, as per MetalInjection. According to comedian Ian Fidance, the Connecticut metalcore veterans are re-recording their seminal 1996 EP “Under The Knife” in addition to working on their ninth new album. When Fidance talked about a recent trip to the studio in a recently released episode of the Bein’ Ian With Jordan Podcast, the news broke.
Saturday, I went to New Haven and sang gang vocals with Hatebreed on their two new albums. In a recording studio with Jamey [Jasta, Hatebreed vocalist] and Larry [Dwyer Jr., ex-Hatebreed guitarist] and Wayne [Lozniak, Hatebreed guitarist] — the two original guitarists on “Under The Knife”.
The presence of frontman Jamey Jasta, guitarist Wayne Lozinak, and founding guitarist Larry Dwyer Jr. during the recordings suggests that the remade material will take a more straightforward approach. Dwyer’s early connections to Death Threat were also mentioned by Fidance.
And Larry played guitar with Death Threat on their demo. And I was geeking out, and we sang gang vocals.
Fidance stated that Hatebreed is completely revamping their EP, “Under The Knife”, which helped solidify their name in the mid-1990s.
And then they’re redoing “Under The Knife“, their first EP, and I sang ‘Under The Knife’ on Under The Knife that they’re repurposing… Redoing, re-releasing, re-recording, redoing.
Fidance claims that his involvement was also recorded, raising the possibility that a studio documentary or behind-the-scenes video would be included with the final release.
A new album this year and possibly also the reissue of “Under The Knife” are amazing news for Hatebreed fans! Now the hardest part is to wait for everything to be released….
