Halestorm unleashes epic new video for “Darkness Always Wins”

Halestorm has just dropped the official music video for “Darkness Always Wins,” a cinematic hard rock anthem directed by DJay Brawner. This brooding track is the first glimpse of their sixth studio album, “Everest”, set for release on August 8th via Atlantic Records.

The video features Lzzy Hale in chainmail, facing off against a shadowy adversary with sword in hand—a dramatic visual echoing the song’s themes of perseverance in the face of darkness. Musically, the track builds from a slow, haunting intro into pounding riffs, tolling bells, and a ripping guitar solo.

According to the band, the song was written and recorded in just two days during a session in Savannah, Georgia, with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb. It was the first track completed for Everest and set the tone for the album’s spontaneous, live-in-the-moment recording process.

“Darkness Always Wins” follows the video release for the title track “Everest,” which paired explosive, apocalyptic visuals with a fiery performance by the band.

Halestorm is currently touring Europe with Iron Maiden and will perform at Black Sabbath’s final concert on July 5th. After that, they’ll return to the U.S. for a summer tour with Volbeat before launching the “nEVEREST” North American run in September with Lindsey Stirling and Apocalyptica.

The album “Everest” promises a raw, emotionally charged collection of tracks that reflect the band’s personal and musical evolution. From blistering riffs to soul-baring lyrics, it’s a statement piece from a band that continues to push its own boundaries.
