Experimental post-hardcore group Hail The Sun have unveiled two fresh tracks—“Consumed With You” and “Blight”—from their forthcoming seventh album, “cut. turn. fade. back.”, set for release on October 24th via Equal Vision Records. The pair of songs serve as additional glimpses into what promises to be a conceptually rich and emotionally intense record.
Earlier, the band shared the frenetic single “War Crimes” with a pointed music video, casting a spotlight on military atrocities and questions of power and humanity. Now, “Blight” and “Consumed With You”, both appearing in the eleven-track album as tracks 5 and 6, add more texture to the narrative arc.
Produced and engineered by Pete Adams along with Grammy winner Johnny Kosich of Beach Noise, and mixed and mastered by Zakk Cervini, the album embraces a sweeping, cyclical theme spanning life, loss, and resilience. The tracks seem poised to offer introspection into addiction, humanitarian crises, love found and lost, and other profound topics that the band has explored in the past.
Fans familiar with the band’s style—marked by progressive, math-rock sensibilities and charged post-hardcore energy—will likely recognize the blend of technical ambition and emotional punch in “Blight” and “Consumed With You”. With cut. turn. fade. back. due soon, these new songs deepen the narrative and set the tone for what promises to be a compelling follow-up to 2023’s “Divine Inner Tension”.
