GWAR announces 40th anniversary North American tour

GWAR has announced a new headlining run for this fall, commemorating their 40th year on the road. The interplanetary shock rockers will promote their collaborative multimedia release, “The Return Of Gor Gor,” which will include a new comic book and new music and is scheduled for release on July 25. Vocalist Blöthar the Berserker comments:

“Gor Gor demands sacrifice! The Tyrant Teen is all grown up and he wants love! Don’t look him in the eye!! The beast demands a bride! Come in your bridal finery. An ocean of chiffon to satisfy the bloodlust of the great lizard!”

Acclaimed alternative metal band Helmet will be opening the shows, playing tracks spanning from 1989 to 2025. Longtime punk group the Dwarves and Jordan “Gwarsenio Hall” Olds of Two Minutes To Late Night‘s new musical project, Blood Vulture, are also booked to tour.
