One of the two significant setlist adjustments made by Guns N’ Roses during their performance in Istanbul, Turkey last Monday, was a decision they hadn’t made in more than 30 years. On their current tour, they had a performance at the BJK Tupras Stadyumu in Istanbul’s Besiktas neighborhood. The Appetite for Destruction song “Out Ta Get Me,” which they performed for the first time since 2017, made the event special. For the first time since 1993, Guns N’ Roses decided not to perform “It’s So Easy,” a set list mainstay and traditional concert opener, according to setlist.fm. Given that Guns N’ Roses have stuck to a set list since their 2016 reunion, this is a somewhat drastic departure for the band. They decided to open their act with “Welcome to the Jungle” this year. They also performed a live rendition of the New York Dolls‘ “Human Being,” from their 1993 covers album “The Spaghetti Incident?” last week in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, it was their first time performing the “G N’ R Lies” classic “Used to Love Her” since 2018. The group also performed without a single “Chinese Democracy” song since 1993 at their May 23 performance in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, they performed a cover of Thin Lizzy‘s “Thunder and Lightning” on the second night of their tour in Yokohama, Japan. The current Guns N’ Roses tour will end on July 31 at Germany’s Wacken Open Air after traveling around Europe in June and July. Dates for North America have not yet been published.
