Nothing screams Guilt Trip more than its new adidas Superstar II collab.
Commemorating its forthcoming ‘Amour Of Angels’ album, the Manchester band teamed up with Adidas to craft a limited-edition pair that underscores its signature fiery aesthetic. On a muted grey body, Guilt Trip comes plastered across the outsole with an embossed “GT” on the heel while finer details, like the custom tongue design and branded aglets, leave no component untouched.
As well as marking the arrival of its third studio album, the project celebrates the influence of music subcultures on the band. From acclaimed metal band Korn to Manchester’s very own Ian Brown, they note the various Superstar-wearing icons that have shaped its no-holds-barred sound – and style – over the last decade.
“adidas is ingrained in our culture,” shares Guilt Trip drummer Tom Aimson with Hypebeast. “Being from the north of England, you see the brand in music, football and beyond because it’s what people relate to the most around here. We’re honored to be working with [adidas] on a shoe, especially the Superstar II.”
See what else Aimson and guitarist Jak Maden had to say about the adidas Superstar II “GT” and its ‘Amour Of Angels’ album, dropping on June 6, in the full interview.
