Green Day is set to embark on the expansive Saviors tour this summer in celebration of their upcoming album of the same name. To sweeten the deal, they will perform two of their classic albums, 1994’s “Dookie” and 2004’s “American Idiot,” in their entirety.
Positioning the new album as the third part of a trilogy alongside “Dookie” and “American Idiot,” Green Day‘s major-label debut, “Dookie,” played a pivotal role in the ’90s pop-punk explosion, selling over 10 million copies in the United States. “American Idiot” marked a reinvention for the band, appealing to a younger audience and achieving multiplatinum success globally after a period of declining album sales.
“Saviors” sees Green Day reuniting with longtime producer Rob Cavallo, who also worked on “Dookie” and “American Idiot.” The band has offered a preview of the album with four singles: “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” “Look Ma, No Brains!,” “Dilemma,” and “One Eyed Bastard.”
The Saviors tour is scheduled to kick off on July 29 in Washington, D.C., and will conclude on Sept. 28 in San Diego. The tour will include stadium performances across the U.S., with support from the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas. Here is the full list of tour dates:
