Great Falls announce new album “The Bite That Grows Up” for October release

Seattle sludge and hardcore trio Great Falls return with a new album, “The Bite That Grows Up,” landing October 16 through Neurot Recordings. Alongside the announcement, the band shared the lead single “Nicotine In The Spine” and opened preorders.

Formed by underground veterans with roots in Kiss It Goodbye, Undertow, Playing Enemy, Bastard Feast, and Gaytheist, The band built their reputation as one of the heaviest acts in the Pacific Northwest. The lineup features guitarist and vocalist Demian Johnston, bassist Shane Mehling, and drummer and vocalist Nickolis Parks. Frequent collaborator John Schork of Half Majesty adds instrumentation across the forty-minute record.

The lead single “Nicotine In The Spine” also features additional vocals from Peter Clement Lund, the late guitarist and vocalist of Danish band Kollapse, who died only a few weeks after tracking his parts. Scott Evans, who worked on the band’s 2023 Neurot debut “Objects Without Pain,” engineered and mixed the album. Brad Boatright at Audiosiege handled mastering, while Johnston contributed the illustration and design.

Ahead of release, the trio also head out on an Eastern North American tour with labelmates Kowloon Walled City, bringing the new record to shows early.
