Boston-based metalcore band Great American Ghost have released a music video for their cover of Deftones’ track “Hole In The Earth.” The band recorded the song with GRAMMY-winning producer Will Putney (Gojira, Body Count) and engineer Steve Seid, and the video—filmed at Ghost Hit Recording in West Springfield, MA—was directed by Chris Klumpp of LIMBS.

The band first teased the release with a snippet featuring the lyric “i hate all of my friends,” sparking speculation among fans. Their version brings a more aggressive edge to the original, blending thick distortion and intense vocals with a faithful nod to the Deftones‘ emotional weight. According to the band, the track was their first and only choice to cover, chosen out of sheer admiration.

Great American Ghost have been building a steady reputation in the heavy music scene over the past decade. With albums like “Everyone Leaves, “Hatred Stems From The Seed”, “Power Through Terror”, and the 2022 EP “Torture World”, they’ve carved out a distinct space. Their 2025 album “Tragedy of the Commons”, also produced by Putney, has further sharpened their sound and solidified their standing.
