Vocalist Cameron Heacock of the American Head Charge is not homeless anymore, as per theprp. Heacock participated in this interview with Soft White Underbelly in November of last year while living on the streets in Los Angeles due to a lengthy history of drug addiction and related hardships. Heacock, who appeared frighteningly thin and ill, described how his heroin addiction had gotten out of control and the different events that had left him homeless. Heacock was caught in 2018 while operating a van that contained numerous stolen items, including more than a dozen guitars. Before that occurrence, Heacock had previously accumulated a number of narcotics possession charges.
Motivated by the interview and Heacock’s stated wish to clean up again, Holiday Kirk from The Nu Metal Agenda went out to find Heacock in the Los Angeles region. After finding him, she started The Something Beautiful Project. The project’s original goal was to generate money to help Heacock enter a structured treatment program for his addiction problems, and it continues to support his attempts to turn his life around. Heacock’s continued recovery has led to his approval for municipal housing, according to a post published by Kirk on July 30. Kirk provided the following details regarding the situation.
Cameron Heacock is no longer homeless. His application for city housing was approved and he moved into a unit yesterday. I cannot possibly explain to you all how proud I am of my best friend, Cam. There were so many moments during these last eight months when thinks looked impossible, tougher than you could imagine, but he never gave up. And now I get to say it, in fact I’ll say it again, Cameron Heacock of American Head Charge is no longer homeless. This would not have been possible without the support of everyone who has contributed to The Something Beautiful Project, thank you to everyone who took the time to be apart of this. We’re not done, not even close. But everything just got a lot easier to do.

Previous American Head Charge releases of “The Something Beautiful Project” have also been available on streaming services, and extra money helped Heacock, who had lost a significant number of teeth due to his addiction and homeless lifestyle, get extensive dental work done.
