Good Charlotte have just released their brand-new single “Stepper” along with an official video, offering another look into their upcoming eighth album, “Motel Du Cap”. The track follows June’s comeback single “Rejects”, which marked the band’s first new material since 2018’s “Generation Rx”.
In the video, directed by Erik Rojas, Joel and Benji Madden play maintenance managers at a quirky motel where guests gradually discover a newfound confidence during their stay. The song itself blends high-energy pop-punk with a motivational message about showing up—for yourself, for others, and for the dreams you share with the people you love.
According to the band, “Stepper” is about the everyday effort of moving forward, celebrating the strength in perseverance and mutual support. Sonically, it continues the band’s knack for catchy hooks and honest lyrics while teasing more stylistic range on the upcoming record.
“Motel Du Cap” is set to arrive on August 8th via Atlantic Records. The album is said to contain a wide mix of sounds, from slower tracks to heavier cuts, all infused with the band’s signature personality and unpredictability.
Leading up to the release, the band have been ramping up their public presence with surprise gigs and special appearances. They’ll be performing at the York State Fair on July 23rd, live on Good Morning America on August 8th, and at LIV Golf Chicago on August 9th.
