Gloria Cavalera clarifies Max Cavalera’s involvement in Sepultura’s farewell show

Gloria Cavalera has addressed the wave of rumors circulating online regarding Sepultura’s upcoming farewell shows. In a direct message posted on her Facebook page, she pushed back against reports claiming that Max Cavalera had been approached to join the band onstage for their final performance.

For everybody out there whose asses got lit on fire today by fake headlines, just so you know no one ever contacted me and no one ever contacted Max. End of story. Go about your day.

Her statement arrives shortly after Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser revealed in an interview that he had reached out to Iggor Cavalera to invite him to perform at the band’s farewell concert. That comment quickly sparked speculation about whether Max — who left Sepultura in 1996 — had also been contacted or might be involved in some capacity.

Gloria’s post makes it clear that no such communication has taken place, shutting down the rumors that spread following Kisser’s remarks.

Sepultura are currently in the midst of their global farewell tour, celebrating more than four decades of activity. Whether any former members will appear at the final show remains unknown, but for now, Gloria Cavalera has firmly dismissed claims involving Max.
