Glenn Hughes has canceled his planned U.S. tour for 2026, citing a minor health concern that necessitates his attention in the upcoming months, as per UCR. The former vocalist of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath announced the cancellation via a social media statement on Friday. His U.S. tour was scheduled to commence on March 27 in San Juan Capistrano, California, and proceed across the country until its final date on May 10 in Tempe, Arizona. In September 2025, Hughes released his latest solo album, titled “Chosen”. Earlier that year, he contributed vocals to “I Wanna Play My Guitar,” the debut single from Joe Satriani and Steve Vai’s collaborative project, the SatchVai Band. Hughes promoted “Chosen” through a series of tour dates in Europe and South America during late 2025. Prior to this, he dedicated several years to performing Deep Purple classics from his tenure with the band, including the albums “Burn”, “Stormbringer”, and “Come Taste the Band”.

We regret to inform you that due to a minor health issue that requires his attention over the upcoming months, Glenn Hughes has made the difficult decision to cancel his 2026 USA tour.

Glenn comments:

“I’m taking advice from my medical team, who I am working closely with. Hoping to see you, on the road of happy destiny.”

Speaking to Chaoszine in an interview about “Chosen”, this is what he stated.

Thank you. I love it. I wrote the album early last year. When I start writing, I’m in a different headspace. With certain albums, you get all kinds of funky on this album, and the next one is very dramatic, and maybe the one after that is heavy. This “Chosen” album is very melodic, quite heavy, and not so soulful. I say ‘not so soulful’ because I am soulful, but not over R&B way — though I love R&B, you know. So, it’s just an example of another Glenn album.
