Ghost‘s latest song sounds a lot like one of the greatest successes in classic rock, according to certain admirers. The third song off the theatrical rockers’ upcoming sixth album, “Skeleta”, which comes out this Friday, is “Peacefield,” which was just published. One X (formerly Twitter) user quickly pointed out the eerie parallels between sections of “Peacefield” and Journey‘s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).” Specifically, there are significant structural parallels between the choruses of the two songs. Ghost has always been influenced by hard rock and metal from the 1980s, and “Peacefield” keeps up this tradition. Several fans mentioned other Ghost songs that had similarities with ’80s oldies in the comments section of that post.
HOLY SHIT THEY WERE NOT JOKING ABOUT JOURNEY

Also respite on the spitalfields definitely takes inspiration from Still of the Night by whitesnake. Listen to Respite @ 2:30 then Still of the Night @ 3:18. He’s always had his hand on the pulse of the 80s hair/pop rock scene. He doesn’t hide it and doesn’t need to.
