The song, which is already a crowd favorite in arenas full of fans demanding more cowbell, now receives a dramatic visual treatment befitting the band’s illustrious past. The “Umbra” clip, which was directed by Amir Chamdin, follows the fateful path of a star-crossed love as they spiral toward mutual annihilation. Papa V Perpetua, Ghost’s attentive ringmaster, is in charge of everything and tells the story of the lovers’ descent with uncanny grace.

The Swedish rock group Ghost was founded in Linköping in 2006. The band became well-known throughout the world after releasing their debut album, “Opus Eponymous”, in 2010. “Meliora”, which peaked at number one in Sweden and number eight in the US in 2015, and “Infestissumam”, which debuted in 2013, came next. The albums “Impera” (2022) and “Prequelle” (2018) came after this. Released in 2025, “Skeletá”, the band’s sixth studio album, went on to become their first number one on the US Billboard 200 list. “Nameless Ghouls” is the moniker given to Ghost’s members, with the exception of the lead singer. Known for his “demonic anti-pope” iconography, the lead singer has alternated between performing as “Papa Emeritus” and altering this for later tours.
Following a lawsuit over royalties filed by a number of musicians who had collaborated with Tobias Forge on the Ghost project, the lead singer’s name was made public in 2017. The band was nominated for multiple Swedish Grammis awards, and their single “Cirice” won them a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016.
