Canadian metallic hardcore band Get The Shot have unveiled a visualizer for their new song “Prying Eyes”, giving listeners another preview of their upcoming EP “Crucifixion Depiction”. The four-track release is due on Friday, October 23, through Arising Empire.
“Prying Eyes” closes the EP, which also features “Feed Me To The Pigs”, the title track “Crucifixion Depiction”, and “Strain”. The latest visualizer arrives just one day before the record’s scheduled release, following earlier previews of the material.
The Quebec-based group has been releasing new music this year, following the introduction of vocalist Mathieu Dhani. The new EP builds on that activity with a compact collection of four songs.
Arising Empire’s official release page confirms the October 23 date and track listing. The official “Prying Eyes” visualizer can be watched on YouTube.
Get the Shot, a Quebec-based outfit, was founded in 2009. A self-produced EP called “In Fear We Stand” was issued by the band in December of the same year. Following the release of their debut album “Perdition” in 2012, the band has been bouncing about on record labels. Get the Shot finished a European tour in 2013. The band embarked on two different European tours in 2017: one with Nasty and Lionheart in November and another with Comeback Kid and Deez Nuts in February as part of the You are Part of This tour. As part of a European tour in 2018, Get the Shot played at Heavy Montréal in Canada and the Hellfest festival in France.
They played in the Metal Frenzy Open Air festival in Gardelegen, Germany, that same year. Get the Shot signed with Arising Empire, a German record company, in 2024.
Over countless tours across the globe the band has taken inspiration from many bands along the way and refined their sound, while also taking influence from some of the top heavy artists such as Obituary, Cannibal Corpse and Machine Head. Hardcore community anchorage has never been greater, driven by a clear strategy, a group on top of their game and unwavering dedication. The members remain committed to the core values of authenticity, integrity, and equality at the heart of the hardcore movement, while addressing with disillusioned realism the flaws of an era defined by blind individualism.
