Ghost‘s “phone-free experience” tour appears to have encountered its first hiccup. According to many local accounts, thousands of fans were forced to wait in lines for at least 40 minutes during the band’s performance in Birmingham, UK, Friday night, April 20th. Although it isn’t stated clearly, people have been speculating that the more strict security measures connected to the planned phone-free experience were the cause of this apparently unusual wait. According to such guidelines, every concertgoer must keep their smartphone stowed away in a Yondr pouch throughout the performance. Although there are designated locations for fans to unlock and use their phones within the stadium, using those devices is prohibited in the major halls for the length of the performance. NME collected the social media posts listed below that highlight the wait for the show yesterday night. The band postponed their planned set start time due to the unanticipated wait.
