German progressive black metal outfit Der Weg Einer Freiheit have released a new live video for “Xibalba”, taken from their latest album “Innern”. The performance was captured during the final night of their European release tour at Christuskirche Bochum in Germany.
In the video, the band moves from calm, haunting passages to intense bursts of sound and emotion. “Xibalba” tells a story of fear’s creation and destruction, showing both its quiet rise and violent end. The live version brings out every layer of tension and release that defines the song.
Frontman Nikita Kamprad handled the live mix and master, while Alessandro di Martino filmed and edited the video. On stage, Kamprad led the lineup of Tobias Schuler on drums, Alan Noruspur on guitars, and Vincent Padrutt on bass. FOH engineer Cedric Demolis and lighting designer Anthony Gluz helped turn the church’s wide space into a stunning display of light and shadow.
“Innern”, released in September through Season of Mist, stands as one of the band’s most ambitious works yet. It blends black metal intensity with post-metal depth and introspection, pushing Der Weg Einer Freiheit into bold new territory.
