California experimental black metal and noise project Genital Shame has released a new single “Down Titration Strategies”, the second preview from upcoming album “Wellness Plan”. The Flenser releases the record on October 30, 2026.

“Wellness Plan” is Erin Dawson lead solo project’s second full-length as Genital Shame, following her 2024 debut “Chronic Illness Wish”. Fans can pre-order the album now through Genital Shame’s Bandcamp.

This single follows the first preview, “I Want to Die Before You”. Dawson borrows the title from medicine, since down-titration means the controlled reduction of a drug dose. However, she uses that language for something else entirely. “I think all the time about how little upstream things (events, lingering thoughts) can have large downstream effects,” she says. “This song plays with vaguely medical language to describe that snowballing effect, adjusting measurements of attachment, life-affirming positions, and self destructive tendencies.”

Erin Dawson handled vocals, guitar, keys, and bass across all tracks, along with engineering throughout. John Kerr played drums and managed drum engineering on every track, while Seth Manchester mixed and mastered the whole record. A few guests rounded out the album. Elizabeth Harris added vocals to “Goodbye (I’ve Left It Open)”, Melissa Guion contributed flute on “Gratitude Meditation”, and Dave Klug provided additional engineering on “Suicide Wellness Plan”.
