Metal, Hardcore, Indie, Rock
“The End Of An Era” was the tagline for the 2024 “Furnace Fest,” yet it appears that the imagined end was not as final as anticipated. The festival, which was a highlight of the early 2000s metalcore and hardcore scenes, took a hiatus before resuming in 2019 (because to COVID-19, it was postponed to 2021). The Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL have hosted the yearly celebration ever since. Given that the “final” edition was held in October of last year, it appears that a new phase of the festival might be approaching. We have no idea what this could signify, if new change in promoters, organization or something completely different. In a November 21st teaser, the festival’s organizers urged spectators to mark October 3–5, 2025, in their calendars.
