French post-punk rockers Corpus Delicti: February 2026 UK Tour and new album “Liminal”

Author Päivi Närvänen - 20.1.2026

Formed in Nice in 1992, Corpus Delicti’s melodic, hard-hitting post-punk rock made an immediate impact, with debut album “Twilight” (1993) becoming a benchmark for the genre. Italian music magazine Ascension described the band as “an incredible mix of Bowie, Bauhaus and Christian Death”. Regularly ranked among the world’s leading gothic rock acts alongside The Cure and Joy Division, their 1994 album “Sylphes” was included in Uncut’s 200 Greatest Goth Albums.

After disbanding in 1997, the band’s cult following continued to grow. A definitive biography, La Déliquescence des ombres by Tony Leduc-Gugnalons, was published in 2011, and in 2019 Cleopatra Records signed the band for a series of reissues, introducing Corpus Delicti to a new generation of listeners. Since reforming, their streaming figures have exceeded three million listens per year.

The long-anticipated reunion took shape in 2022, with sold-out shows from Cannes to Mexico City confirming that their music had not only endured, but grown in relevance. In February 2026, Corpus Delicti return to the UK with the “Liminal” tour, performing material from the new album alongside key songs from their catalogue. New album “Liminal” (2025) marks a powerful return to the studio, released thirty years after their last full-length, “Obsessions” (1995). Produced by guitarist Franck Amendola alongside the band, and mastered in London at The Exchange by Graeme Durham (Björk, Massive Attack, U2, The Pogues), “Liminal” stands at the intersection of past and present, rooted in the band’s origins while embracing a sharper, contemporary edge.

The album was preceded by the single “Room 36”, featuring a collaboration with contemporary artist Jean-Luc Verna, whose artwork also adorns the album cover. Verna appears in the accompanying video, creating a striking visual dialogue between contemporary art and dark, avant-garde aesthetics. A triumphant return, “Liminal” confirms that Corpus Delicti remains a key force on the international dark post-punk scene.
