French multi-instrumentalist Igorrr releases video for “Headbutt” ahead of new album “Amen”

French artist Gautier Serre, known under the moniker Igorrr, has unveiled the official video for his latest single, “Headbutt,” taken from his highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Amen,” due out on September 19th via Metal Blade Records.

This new release continues the band’s two-decade-long streak of pushing musical boundaries with surprising breakthroughs and unpredictable twists. “Amen” keeps that spirit alive, offering a darker, more solemn tone—serving as a creative evolution from his earlier works.

The album features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Scott Ian (Anthrax), Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle), and Mike Leon (Soulfly). It explores unconventional instrumentation, with Serre even using an excavator to play the piano on “Headbutt,” showcasing his flair for both the extreme and the inventive.

Additional details highlight the creative process behind the video: the footage was captured during the actual recording session and culminates with the dramatic smashing of a broken piano—not one that was functional—to add visual intensity while preserving resources.

“Headbutt” is the album’s fourth single, following earlier releases “ADHD,” “Blastbeat Falafel,” and “Infestis,” each of which underscores Igorrr’s fearless approach to genre blending—from avant-garde metal and dubstep chaos to classical and operatic influences.
