Fox Lake drop animated video for defiant new track “Freestyle”

Denver’s genre-bending heavy outfit Fox Lake have unleashed a fresh burst of animated fury with their new video for “Freestyle,” featuring AVOID. The track thumps with bounce and groove, serving as a defiant response to critics who expect them to play by genre rules — attitude: zero f**ks given.

“Freestyle” is the latest prelude to their forthcoming album, “New World Heat,” set for release on August 1st via MNRK Heavy. The animated visuals, crafted by Michiel Stender, channel the band’s chaotic energy and total refusal to conform.

The album itself is built around the idea of burning everything down to begin again. It’s a raw and redemptive exploration of identity, reality, and reinvention — a sonic manifesto about shedding old beliefs, habits, and systems to forge a better self and a better world. Musically, Fox Lake made the deliberate choice to tear down their past limitations and rebuild with one goal: sound like Fox Lake, no compromises.

The result? An album that promises to be faster, heavier, groovier, and catchier than ever — and unmistakably theirs. “New World Heat” also features guest spots from Mugshot on “For the Love of the Game,” Silent Planet on “Headshot,” and Eyes of Salt on “Gut Check.”

With touring plans in the works, the band is gearing up to bring this explosive new era to stages everywhere. If “Freestyle” is anything to go by, it’s going to hit hard.
