American post-punk project Fotocrime have released a new single titled “Plowjob”, offering another sharp look into the band’s dark, restless post punk sound. The track is out now and arrives alongside a stark black and white music video directed by frontman Ryan Patterson. It also serves as an early preview of the band’s upcoming album, “Security”, which is set for release on March 13, 2026.
Musically, “Plowjob” leans heavier and more direct than some of the band’s recent material. The song pushes gritty guitars to the front while keeping the cold, mechanical pulse that has defined Fotocrime’s sound. At the same time, guest backing vocals from Aaron Turner (Sumac, Isis, Old Man Gloom) add extra tension, giving the track a rougher edge without drifting away from its post punk core.
Fotocrime first emerged in 2017 as the new creative outlet for Ryan Patterson following the hiatus of Coliseum. That earlier band played a key role in shaping the Louisville hardcore scene throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, building a reputation for relentless touring and uncompromising releases. When Coliseum stepped aside, Patterson shifted direction rather than slowing down, channeling years of intensity into a colder, more stripped back sound with Fotocrime.
Since then, the band has steadily built their own identity, releasing multiple albums and EPs that balance anxiety driven lyrics with sharp, minimalist arrangements. Patterson remains the central force behind the project, handling vocals, songwriting, and visuals. His hands on approach continues with the “Plowjob” video, which reflects the same bleak atmosphere found in the band’s music.
