Ice Nine Kills has scheduled another horror film collaboration after working with “Scream 7” on “Twisting the Knife“, as per theprp. This time, they are working together on “Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come,” which is the follow-up to the slasher horror/dark comedy “Ready Or Not” from 2019. For that movie, the band played the role of a fake glam metal band called Grave Diggler, and they contributed the song “Hell Or High Slaughter.” On March 20, the day the movie opens, the entire song and accompanying music video will be released. It is mentioned that Grave Diggler is made up of the fathers of Ice Nine Kills members. The tease below includes some well-known figures from the metal community in addition to commentary from the cast of the previously mentioned movie.
Boston, Massachusetts is home to the American heavy metal group Ice Nine Kills. Although the band’s music combines many different musical genres, it is primarily characterized as metalcore with a horror theme. Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz, two buddies from high school, formed Ice Nine in 2000 as a ska punk band before switching to a metalcore sound in 2010. As of right now, Charnas is the only surviving founder member. Fearless Records is the band’s record label.
In addition to six full-length studio albums, Ice Nine Kills has released three EPs: “Last Chance to Make Amends”, “Safe Is Just a Shadow”, “The Predator Becomes the Prey”, “Every Trick in the Book”, which peaked at number 122 on the US Billboard 200; “The Silver Scream”, which peaked at number 29; and their most recent album, “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood”, which peaked at number 18. The fictional chemical ice-nine from Kurt Vonnegut’s 1963 novel Cat’s Cradle is the source of their band name.
