The music world is in deep mourning after the death of Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters. The drummer was 50 years old when he died. The band confirmed Hawkins’ death on social media.
According to local sources reported by the British Mirror, Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room in Colombia.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live with us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time”, the band writes on social media.
Hawkins originally joined Foo Fighters after the band completed their classic 1997 album “The Colour and the Shape” and has been a member ever since.
Prior to joining Foo Fighters, Hawkins had played drums with Alanis Morissette around the time of the release of ‘Jagged Little Pill’.
