Finntroll announce new lead vocalist for their upcoming tour

Author Benedetta Baldin - 6.1.2026

Finnish folk metal band Finntroll have announced a temporary new vocalist for the upcoming European tour. A statement on their official channels reads:

Horde!

With hairy hearts we regret to inform you, that our unbeatable frontman Vreth has fallen ill. After countless of battles took its toll, he needs some time to reinvigorate. We yet don’t know how and when he’ll be back on his smelly feet & screeching down our necks, but we’ll be waiting.

However, while Vreth takes a rest will Finntroll still blast a show as business as usual. And in order to get through this ordeal in these grim circumstances, and to be able to deliver you the best possible Finntrollin’, neck wrenchin’, super blazin’ show, we summon Kistelach, the scourge of the fjords, abomination of Arendahl, the ultimate fiend of the fishermen. This vile bastard brother of ours from Norway will step in and fill the spot left by Vreth for the time being.

So please join us in welcoming this notorious Norseman in our filthy ranks. We’ll be eyeballing you in the pit in various places very soon!

“I’m sad to announce that I won’t be joining the Finnish shows or the Heidenfest tour this time. I’ve been suffering from stress-related sleep deprivation and will be sitting these ones out. People used to call me “The Busiest Guy in Metal”… I guess it all just caught up with me.”

– Vreth

“It’s a true honor for me to be entrusted with the task of handling vocal duties for the upcoming Finntroll tour. I will do my best to do the songs, the stage and the audience justice!”

– Kistelach
