Finnish symphonic metal band Children of the Frost release a new single from upcoming EP

Symphonic metal band Children of the Frost will release a new EP “The Last Winter’s Child” on November 1st 2024. The single release from the EP is called “End of Eternity” and is out on October 4th. The single is the band’s first release with drummer Vesa Ahlroth and keyboard player Topi Kivioja.

“End of Eternity” paints horrifying scenes that make a mere mortal feel powerless. The song has been a part of the band’s live set for a number of years.

End of Eternity is based on the ramblings of some apocalypse preachers from my home town. Such an oppressive and intense song needs heavy lyrics and what’s heavier than the end of all things? We first started rehearsing the song for our live set right before the COVID pandemic hit. Since then End of Eternity has at times felt eerily topical.

Children of the Frost is a Finnish symphonic metal band founded in 2015 by the guitarist & vocalist Joni Renko. Their sound has been described as a mix of bands like Nightwish, Epica and Eternal Tears of Sorrow.

The music of Children of the Frost combines catchy melodies with heavy riffs and contrasts clean female vocals with raw death metal growls. Lyrically the band dives into darker waters, exploring the grim and desperate side of the human mind.
