Finland has opened up: Chaoszine’s guide to this summer’s festivals

The day that we all have been waiting for is finally here – music festivals and concerts are happening again in Finland. It’s thrilling and exciting, but it might also be confusing and problematic to decide which events to attend to. That is why Chaoszine rounded up all the main Finnish festivals in July and August to help you make some serious decisions.

Metallivuori (16-17 July Honkilahti): Metallivuori is a new metal festival happening for the first time at the Holiday Center Sieravuori, located 200 km from Helsinki. Even though the festival itself is new, it has gathered together very well known Finnish bands. Kuopiorock (29-31 July Kuopio): Kuopiorock stands as one of the oldest and most attended Finnish rock festivals, celebrating its 18th anniversary this year, so it’s not a surprise that the 3-day tickets are already sold out. You can still find tickets left for 29 July, so hurry up! Rock In The City Festival is special because of its concept: you take a powerful line-up and make the same festival in five different cities, Espoo, Kerava, Joensuu, Jyväskylä and Pori. Qstock (30-31 July Kuusisaari and Raatti islands): Qstock is an annual festival happening in Oulu, combining artists from different musical genres. You can find rock and heavy metal bands as well as pop and hip-hop artists there. Saarihelvetti (6-7 August Viikinsaari Tampere): “The Island of Hell” sounds already pretty awesome, huh? Saarihelvetti is a very well known Finnish metal festival, taking place on an island 20-25 minutes from Tampere city center. Access to the festival is very easy – there are ferries going daily from the port of Laukontori, so metalheads don’t need to worry about a thing.
