Fieldy addresses where he stands with Korn after time apart

Author Benedetta Baldin - 22.2.2025

Bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, formerly a mainstay of the nu metal genre, has been missing from Korn‘s lineup for years. He first resigned in 2021 to deal with his “bad habits.” Fieldy would subsequently clarify that the “bad habits” he referenced were not related to drugs, although his initial exit comment caused some fan anxiety. As a result of Fieldy’s absence, his teammates in Korn would later enlist Suicidal Tendencies‘ Ra Díaz as their live bassist, a position he has maintained ever since. Meanwhile, Fieldy has only produced music for his own band, Stillwell. Even though Fieldy hasn’t played with his Korn bandmates in a while, he is still classified as a member of the well-known Bakersfield band, despite their rather strained relationship. Fieldy was asked about his current relationship with the band during a recent episode of “Basement Talk.” Although the details are still unclear, he did admit that he hasn’t stayed in contact with the guys.

I haven’t talked to those guys since 2019. We just kinda both…. They’re truckin’. They’re a machine, they’re going. It’s insane. It’s dope that they can keep on going like that.

He has no hard feelings towards them.

It’s cool to see them keep on going. I’m like, I need to chill, I’m just kickin’ it.

Fieldy also offered the hosts a tour of his house, studio, and other areas at the beginning and conclusion of the program. He continued the conversation by revealing that he is still passionate about art and music and is working on another book. He gave a brief explanation of his intentions for the latter, saying that Stillwell, which consists of himself, drummer Noah “Wuv” Benardo of P.O.D., and guitarist/vocalist Q-Unique, is currently rebranding with a more powerful lineup.

We’re doing music with — well it was Stillwell — but we’re redoing everything. It’s gonna be heavier, more like what the people want. You know cause you got Wuv from P.O.D., you got me, Q on vocals. Vladimir on the keys right here, Jamie on guitar, Rob on guitar, so we’re a five-piece now. It’s heavy. It’s dope, I’m excited about it.
