Pagan folk band Faun has released a brand new single and music video for ‘Lady Isobel’, a delicate and deeply personal ballad. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming new album “Hex,” set for release on 5th September via Pagan Folk Records. Listen to the single here and watch the music video below.
With its inspiration rooted in a passage penned by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Oliver Satyr, the track uses poetic images to tell the story of an enchanting woman who seems to be trapped in the tower of her loneliness. Enriched with flutes and synthesisers, Faun once again flaunt their incredible ability to create their own musical world, able to defy any genre boundaries with a weightless beauty.
On the new single, Satyr comments:
“’Lady Isobel’ has its source in one of my poems, which I wrote about a dear friend of mine. The lute accompaniment was inspired by the guitar playing of, for example, Nick Drake and Bert Jansch. Together with great vocals, flute playing, synthesisers and rhythms of my band colleagues, ‘Lady Isobel’ has become a wonderfully floating ballad that I am very proud of.”
