At least one fan is glad Gene Simmons accepted the Kiss star’s offer of a $12,495 “roadie for a day” package during his current solo tour, despite the fact that he has been heavily ridiculed for doing so. After becoming Simmons‘ “roadie” for a May 9 concert in Red Bank, New Jersey, with his 13-year-old son Zach, 52-year-old retired correctional sergeant Dwayne Rosado told the New York Times this.

This is what I choose to spend my money on. I’m not going to die with a lot of money. I’m going to die happy.

The money spent was well worth it.

Absolutely. Nothing can beat tonight. It’s cemented in Kisstory now, because it’s going to be on YouTube and everything else. So I’ll get to look back and see that moment forever.

The narrative recounts the Rosados’ day, which included a two-hour meal during which Simmons was questioned on everything from the merits of limited liability companies to how he lost his virginity. The father and son had the opportunity to perform at soundcheck, but there wasn’t much real roadie work done. Additionally, they had the opportunity to record Simmons and his band performing “Parasite” from the stage while the audience sang “Happy Birthday” to Zach. Simmons also presented the Rosados to the audience, complimenting the father on his constant attention to his son and, in particular, for instructing him to abstain from alcohol and drugs. Following the performance, the two met with Simmons in private for the last time.
