Finnish melodic death/groove metal outfit Falling From Grace is back with a bang, unleashing their second full-length album “At The Edge” via Inverse Records. Following their 2020 debut “Shattered”, the new record marks a heavier and more intense chapter in the band’s journey — and it’s available for streaming now across all major platforms.

“At The Edge” lives up to its name, thematically revolving around the harrowing experience of being pushed to life’s breaking point. Lyrically, the band continues to explore the darker shades of the human condition, but this time they’ve also thrown in some sharp commentary on the state of the world today. It’s a raw and honest portrayal of despair — but with a bold musical edge.

While the record embraces a more somber and crushing tone than its predecessor, that signature Falling From Grace energy hasn’t gone anywhere. The band’s trademark aggressiveness pulses through each track, anchored by guitarist Timi Tonteri’s sharp songwriting. Stylistically, “At The Edge” blends several metal subgenres, but its heart lies firmly in melodic death and groove metal.

One standout moment comes in the form of the final track “The Creator”, which breaks the mold with a slightly different vibe. The song also features a guest appearance from Nils Courbaron — known from Sirenia, Bloodorn, and T.A.N.K. — adding a unique layer to the album’s conclusion.

The band sees “At The Edge” as a significant step forward in their musical evolution. They’ve experimented with new elements they haven’t used before, and they feel the album’s release is perfectly timed — especially with Tuska Festival coming up, where they’ll get to perform the new material live.
