“’Everest’ is not necessarily an album of hope” – Interview with Lzzy Hale about Halestorm’s new album, vocal evolution and Black Sabbath

Author John Wins - 12.6.2025

There are many talented singers in the world, but few with the power and range of American vocalist/guitarist Lzzy Hale, and certainly only a few with her charisma. Over the past two decades, she has become a familiar voice and face in the music industry, constantly releasing new music and touring the world with her brother Arejay Hale in the heavy rock band Halestorm.

Nearly 28 years after the Hale siblings founded their band in Pennsylvania, Halestorm is ready to release their sixth album, Everest. The record will be released via Atlantic Records on August 8th and was produced by multi-award winning Dave Cobb, known for his work with Slash, Rival Sons and Europe.

Promoting the new album, Chaoszine spoke with Lzzy over a video call to talk about the process of transforming poems into songs, her vocal evolution throughout the years and how she felt on being the only woman playing at the final Black Sabbath show.
