Eudoxia releases new EP “The Shadow Works”

Author Flavia Andrade - 31.10.2025

Eudoxia is the alter ego of Marília Zangrandi — a powerhouse vocalist who bridges the raw intensity of rock and the dramatic expressiveness of opera. With over 15 years of experience on stage and in the studio, she embodies a sound that is both technically masterful and emotionally fearless.

A classically trained singer from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Marília earned her Master’s degree in Portugal, receiving the highest distinction for her interpretation of Poulenc’s “La Voix Humaine”. Her operatic background includes leading roles in works by Donizetti, Bizet, and Monteverdi — but her heart has always pulsed to the rhythm of rock.

Eudoxia was born from that collision of worlds. Over the years, Marília has toured internationally as guest vocalist for Geoff Tate (Queensrÿche) on the “Operation: Mindcrime” anniversary tours and has shared the stage with legendary Brazilian band Angra. She has collaborated with numerous rock and metal acts across Europe and South America, constantly exploring the intersections between classical technique and electric energy.

In 2024, she recorded Villa-Lobos’s “Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5” for the soundtrack of the Brazilian TV series “Renascer” (TV Globo), a hauntingly lyrical piece that bridges tradition and modern emotion.

Her latest release, “The Shadow Works”, presents three distinct tracks that reveal the full range of Eudoxia’s artistic identity — from atmospheric introspection to raw power and cinematic intensity. Each song opens a different door into her universe, showcasing a fearless approach to sound, emotion, and storytelling.

Now based in Lisbon, Eudoxia continues to evolve as both singer and creator, carving out her space in the global rock scene with a voice — and vision — that are unmistakably her own.
