The recent North American race by ERRA and Currents will soon go global, as per theprp. The two metalcore bands will embark on another co-headlining tour in November, landing in Europe this time. Swedish metalcore group Aviana and British post-hardcore band Caskets will open, much like they did on their recently finished spring tour. The run’s presales have already begun, and the general onsale is set for this Friday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. CET (10:00 a.m. UK time).
In Birmingham, Alabama, high school pals Alex Ballew, Jesse Cash, Adam Hicks, Garrison Lee, and Alan Rigdon founded Erra in 2009. The group recorded and self-released two EPs: “Andromeda” in 2010 and a self-titled EP in 2009. Tragic Hero Records took notice of this and signed them in 2011. The group performed with bands like Born of Osiris and Upon a Burning Body after releasing their debut studio album Impulse later that year. The band started recording their second studio album in 2012 after Adam Hicks quit to pursue other career opportunities. Cash recorded the bass and guitar for the album. After the release of “Augment”, the band started travelling more frequently and received a lot more interest from touring bands.
Guitarist Sean Price, who appeared in the “Hybrid Earth” music video, took Hicks’ position. In order to promote their second release, the band went on tour the following year. In 2014, guitarist Alan Rigdon and vocalist Garrison Lee announced their resignation from the group, however they did so amicably.
