Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande confirmed in a new interview with Drummer’s Review that the band has been actively working on new music to follow up their 2022 record “The End, So Far.”
Casagrande said:
“What I can tell you right now is that we are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure. Since I joined the band, we have been working on new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, and we also had some jam sessions. So we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it’s happening. It already happened, and it’s gonna happen in the future. So new material is coming, for sure.”
Earlier this year, guitarist Jim Root spoke on the Turning Wrenches podcast about shifting focus from touring to writing:
“Once we got Eloy in the band, we needed to get out there and show people why he’s part of Slipknot. Now that he’s in, we need to write a record. For me it’s really hard to be creative when a tour is looming. I told our manager to stop booking shows — we need to focus on writing. We owe it to Eloy to make a record.”
Root revealed he already has six arrangements ready and four more in progress. His goal is to have 20–25 solid song ideas before the band enters pre-production and Corey Taylor begins adding lyrics.
