Bangkok-based metal project Echoes of Tomorrow have released their latest single, “Le Dernier Matsuri“, combining metalcore, djent and progressive metal with themes of cultural identity, tradition and the fear of losing one’s roots.

Led by Jeremy Capo, Echoes of Tomorrow blend heavy breakdowns and melodic hooks with a distinctive visual identity inspired by Japanese imagery, futuristic landscapes and the neon-lit atmosphere of Bangkok.

The new single, whose title translates to “The Last Matsuri”, explores the importance of preserving cultural heritage in an increasingly changing world. Sung in French, the track draws on imagery of lanterns, drums and traditional celebrations to examine what happens when languages, customs and collective memories begin to disappear.

Rather than simply mourning the possible loss of these traditions, “Le Dernier Matsuri” also carries a message of determination. The song questions how cultural practices can retain their original meaning and be passed down to future generations instead of becoming empty rituals.

The release continues themes previously explored in Echoes of Tomorrow‘s music. Earlier single “Children of No Nation” examines identity and belonging in a world that is becoming increasingly uniform, while “Paper Skies” focuses on broken trust, disillusionment and the fragile emotional worlds people build to protect themselves.

Fans unfamiliar with the project can also explore its anime-inspired music video for “Break the Chains“, taken from the album “Rise.exe”. The song deals with resisting control and reclaiming personal identity, reflecting the album’s broader themes of resilience, personal growth and rebuilding after difficult experiences.

Meanwhile, Echoes of Tomorrow have already completed recording their next album, “STILL HUMAN”, which is currently scheduled for release in late 2026.

“Le Dernier Matsuri” is available now on streaming platforms, alongside the project’s previously released material.
