Duff McKagan drops new song “I Saw God On 10th St”

Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan has shared a new single titled “I Saw God on 10th St” with an accompanying visualizer video. The track is taken from McKagan’s upcoming new solo album “Lighthouse”, out October 20.

Comments McKagan of the song: “I picture him as an old guy with white beard and hair, leaning up against a wall on a city street. The ultimate jurist of us all. Pissed off, squinting eyes to ward off what he sees, spitting frequently with no care for who may be around. The Creator. God. Allah, Shiva… or whomever. I think I see him sometimes over on 10th St., hands in tight fists, and toes curled up and tense.”

“Lighthouse” arrives four years after McKagan’s second solo LP, “Tenderness”, and just one month after the three-song EP “This Is the Song”, released in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month.

It’s the first full-length album he’s recorded in his new home studio and features contributions from a handful of famous friends. Guns N’ Roses colleague Slash and Paul McCartney drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. both appear on “Hope“, while Jerry Cantrell appears on “I Just Don’t Know” and Iggy Pop lends his talents to the album-closing “Lighthouse (Reprise)”. McKagan previously appeared on Cantrell’s 2021 album “Brighten” and Pop’s 2022 LP “Every Loser”.
