Ukrainian atmospheric black metal act Drudkh have announced a new EP titled “Thaw” and released its lead single, “Memory.” The band recorded the EP during the same sessions as their 2025 album “Shadow Play,” so it continues the same emotional arc.
Rather than shifting course, “Memory” pushes deeper into the introspective mood of its predecessor. The track runs just over seven minutes and moves at a steady, deliberate pace. Suspended melodies and restrained repetition shape its flow. As a result, the atmosphere feels tense yet controlled.
Now, “Thaw” stands as a direct continuation instead of a separate chapter. The band built the EP as a companion piece to “Shadow Play.” Across three tracks, Drudkh explore transition, inner exile, and quiet instability. Meanwhile, the title reflects a fragile state of change rather than rebirth.
Instead of dramatic turns, the material relies on subtle shifts and emotional weight. Therefore, “Memory” captures the balance between stillness and slow transformation. The EP keeps the spirit of the previous album intact while carving out its own space.
“Thaw” arrives on April 24 via Season of Mist Underground Activists.
