Albany, NY-based metalcore outfit Downswing has released a blistering new music video for their single “Emptiness Remains”, directed by JOSIAHx (Disturbed, Miss May I). The video dropped alongside the band’s latest studio album, “And Everything Was Dark”.

The video channels themes of isolation and inner void, pairing brutal riffs and emotional intensity with striking, high-contrast visuals. JOSIAHx’s signature cinematic style gives the clip a sharp edge that mirrors the album’s darker mood.

Musically, the record pushes Downswing further into heavy, introspective territory. The band explores deeper emotional layers while keeping their trademark aggression intact, balancing crushing breakdowns with moody atmosphere.

Both the album and the video mark a bold step for the Albany group, showing that Downswing are fully embracing the shadows while pushing their sound to new extremes. “And Everything Was Dark” can now be streamed on Spotify and Bandcamp.
