Downswing, the heavy-hitting quartet from Albany, New York, has officially joined the MNRK label and unveiled a new single, “For What It’s Worth”, featuring Travis Moseley of Colorblind. The track comes alongside news of their full-length album, “And Everything Was Dark”, which lands on October 24th. The band delivers a raw, uncompromising sound that blurs the lines between emotional fury and melodic intensity.
Forged in 2018, the band comprises vocalist Harrison Seanor (who joined in 2020), guitarist Anthony Salvaggio, bassist Chris Arnold, and drummer Nick Manzella. Since their early EPs—”Dark Side of the Mind” (2017) and “Good Intentions” (2020)—they’ve been steadily refining their blend of metallic hardcore with groove-laden energy. The 2022 “New Lows” EP garnered praise for its impact and intensity, while their most recent EP, “Let This Life Devour You”, arrived last year.
Lead single “For What It’s Worth” is marked by towering riffs and emotional weight, a bleak outcry of betrayal and confusion. Seanor highlighted its visceral power, noting that from the opening riff it delivers an undeniable drive and headbanging energy.
Before the album arrives, Downswing will be hitting the road this September as direct support for He Is Legend’s 20th anniversary run of “Suck Out the Poison”. They’ll be joined by Eyes Set to Kill, with support from Teeth on most dates. The tour kicks off on September 12th in Brooklyn and travels through cities including Albany, Buffalo, Detroit, and Raleigh, wrapping up on September 26th.
