Over the past few years, metal supergroup Down—which includes bassist Pat Bruders, guitarists Kirk Windstein and Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower, and vocalist Philip H. Anselmo—has hinted at a new album, and we are now seeing some progress on it.
The Louisiana-based stone/sludge metal band, which signed to Nuclear Blast earlier this year, started tracking guitars this week. In a brief update from the studio, guitarist Kirk Windstein revealed that he has begun tracking guitars at OCD Recording and Production in Harahan, Louisiana.
The release of the new album is planned for 2026.
