Finnish industrial metallers Dome Runner have unleashed a brand-new digital EP titled “Protocol Spasm”. The three-track release includes the songs “Obsolete Flesh”, “Wide Open Void”, and a cover of Beck’s “Whiskeyclone, Hotel City 1997”.
The first two tracks are taken from an upcoming split release with sludge powerhouse Taser, while the cover is a digital exclusive only available on this EP. The songs dive deep into Dome Runner’s signature sound — cold mechanical textures, crushing riffs, and an atmosphere thick with metallic grit.
Production duties were largely handled in-house. Bassist-vocalist Antti Kurttila recorded and produced the EP, with additional guitars tracked by vocalist-guitarist Simo Perkiömäki, who also took care of mixing. The artwork was a collaborative effort between Otto Heino and Perkiömäki, while Antti Välimäki handled mastering.
