Since emerging in 2014, Distant has established themselves as a force in extreme metal through pivotal releases including “Tyrannotophia” (2019), the “Aeons of Oblivion” trilogy (2021), and “Heritage” (2023), combining crushing brutality with their distinctive fusion of dissonant deathcore, brutal death metal, and beatdown elements. Today, the quartet presents fans with “Tyrannotophia Redux” – a completely reimagined, re-recorded, and reinforced version of their landmark album. Available now through Unique Leader Records, the definitive edition can be streamed here:
The band shared their excitement about the project:
“We’re incredibly excited to finally reveal ‘Tyrannotophia Redux’ – a complete reimagining of our 2019 record ‘Tyrannotophia’. This goes far beyond a simple remaster – we committed fully to the process.
“We re-recorded all vocals from the ground up, reworked several guest features, and gave the entire album a fresh mix and master courtesy of Simone Pietroforte to elevate the production to match the punishing standards of our recent releases.
“‘Tyrannotophia’ marked a pivotal moment for us upon its initial release, and we wanted to give it the treatment it deserved with the sound we’ve developed over the subsequent years. Same narrative, same brutality – but more massive, heavier, and more polished.”
