Disney has unveiled “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band,” a forthcoming documentary tracing the band’s preparations for their extensive 2023-2024 global tour. In a press release touting the project, Disney promises an unparalleled behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of Springsteen‘s concerts, presenting “the most comprehensive insight ever” into the process. The documentary pledges to unveil “a fresh perspective on Springsteen’s creative journey for fans worldwide,” showcasing candid footage from band rehearsals and intimate backstage moments, along with exclusive interviews with Springsteen himself.

Moreover, the documentary will feature “rare archival footage of the E Street Band,” exploring themes of life, loss, mortality, and community. “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band” aims to enrich Springsteen’s autobiographical narrative, building upon his memoir “Born to Run,” the Broadway production “Springsteen on Broadway,” and his cinematic endeavours “Western Stars” and “Letter to You.”

Directed by Thom Zimny, who previously helmed “Springsteen on Broadway,” the documentary will be available for streaming on both Disney+ and Hulu. While the release is slated for October, a specific date has yet to be disclosed.

Following earlier performances across the United States, Springsteen is set to embark on a summer tour across Europe. He is scheduled to return to the States in August for a series of concerts extending through November. Unlike his 2023 tour, which faced setbacks due to Springsteen‘s diagnosis of peptic ulcer disease, the 2024 tour has proceeded with considerably smoother sailing.
