On November 29, Limp Bizkit made their stage comeback for the first time since co-founding bassist Sam Rivers passed away on October 18, 2025, as reported by theprp. Although Rivers’ cause of death was not made public, a police investigation provided additional details about the 48-year-old musician’s demise. His comrades in Limp Bizkit described him as “the pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound” when they announced his passing last month. The show at the Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City, Mexico will be Limp Bizkit’s first performance since Rivers’ untimely death, despite the devastating defeat.
Kid Not (real name Richie Buxton), the tour opener Ecca Vandal‘s songwriting collaborator and producer, filled in for the late Rivers on bass for the performance. Ecca Vandal‘s 2025 song “Cruising To Self Soothe” featured guest vocals by Limp Bizkit vocalist Fred Durst, who also appeared onstage during her performance. Limp Bizkit stopped the festivities to show a video package honoring Rivers before beginning their main act. In the meantime, drummer John Otto posted the following touching homage to Rivers on social media shortly before he took the stage.
Today is going to be tough. A first I never wanted to experience. Especially not now. You’ve been there for so many major firsts in my life. Some of my earliest memories were made with you. We grew up together. Laughed together. together. Realized our dreams together. And traveled the world together. You’ve always been there. The godfather to my girls, my best friend-my brother. There will never be another you. We’re going to honor the life you lived and the love you spread with every show we play. You’ll always be with us.
Thank you to our fans for all the messages of support and tributes to Sam. It means the world to us.
This one’s for you Sammy.
In an earlier social media homage to Rivers, Kid Not said, “You schooled us all in low-end theory, and did it with such a humble, beautiful heart.” Additionally, Ecca Vandal has toured with Limp Bizkit in the past. Yungblud was initially scheduled to provide direct support for Limp Bizkit‘s Latin American “Loserville Tour,” which began with this performance. Bullet For My Valentine took his place with a 20th anniversary commemoration of their record “The Poison” when he abandoned that journey a few weeks previously. 311 and Ecca Vandal, a frequent tourmate of Limp Bizkit, are also included in the bill, and apparently for good reason. Slay Squad, a “ghetto metal” band, and rapper Riff Raff complete the lineup.
