Discover the children’s book that will be available for sale at Cavalera’s merch stand

Author Benedetta Baldin - 27.9.2025

If you’re wondering why a kids’ book landed on a music news site, it’s because this one’s got metal in its roots. Co-written by Danny Marianino (North Side Kings, Cause for Alarm) and Gloria Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Nailbomb, Incite and many more), this story fuses heart, humor, and heavy music hints into a wild ride for a children’s book suitable for all ages.

Illustrated by legendary Australian artist Mick Lambrou, whose iconic artwork includes bands such as Agnostic Front, Murphy’s Law, Slapshot, Madball, and more; this marks Danny and Mick’s fourth book together and their first collaboration with Gloria.

Loaded with deep-cut nods to heavy music (especially for Cavalera diehards), “Dana and the Lost Lizard” is full of Easter eggs that’ll hit home for longtime fans, while still keeping things fun and accessible for kids and parents alike.

The book will be available October 7th, 2025 through Amazon, DannyMarianino.com, select in person events, and Cavalera tour merch booths.

Gloria Cavalera is a trailblazing music manager and founder of Oasis Management, known for shaping the careers of heavy metal icons. She launched Sepultura into global stardom and continues to manage Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Killer Be Killed, and other projects tied to the Cavalera family tree. Danny and Mick’s previous release, Night of the GabaGhoul, cracked open the door to the children’s book market, earning them spots at comic cons, book fairs, and Italian festivals across the globe. Their follow-up, Dana and the Lost Lizard, will make its early debut at this year’s Los Angeles Italian Festival. The book is packed with “easter eggs” nodding to Cavalera and heavy music culture, adding a layer of charm for both parents and kids. At its heart, Dana and the Lost Lizard is a tribute to Gloria’s son, Dana Wells, who tragically passed away in 1996. In the story, Dana appears as a young boy alongside his real-life pet iguana, Moose
