Dianne releases new single “Flameborn” feat. Marcela Bovio

Author Benedetta Baldin - 18.10.2024

“Flameborn” is the fourth song & single from Dianne van Giersbergen’s waterfall release album “Soulward Bound”, which she will release under her own name Dianne. All songs on this album are co-written & produced by Joost van den Broek (Powerwolf, Epica, Blind Guardian, Ayreon). Each song features a different band, made up of well-known international musicians from the metal genre.

“Flameborn” is an autobiographical story about restoring a lost friendship. It’s dedicated to my dear friend and ex Xandria band member, Steven Wussow, who also performs bass guitar on this song. Dianne

The song is a testament to Symphonic Metal: bombastic to the bone, jam-packed with haunting vocals, beautiful orchestral melodies, and driven by impressive heavy riffing and double bass.

To give “Flameborn” an even deeper meaning, I’ve invited my dear friend and vocalist extraordinaire, Marcela Bovio. The duet that “Flameborn” has become is the seal to our friendship and can only be described as classical vocal firework! Dianne

Dianne and Marcela’s operatic vocals blend like never before in this symphonic metal duet. Their high soaring voices, thought provoking lyrics and massive chorus lines make this song into a one-act opera – captured in a cinematic video by Cinebuds, the video company of Dutch metal band Blackbrair. Watch & enjoy the brand new music video here

Fans who enjoy bands like Nightwish, Xandria, Epica, Powerwolf and other similar bands from the symphonic metal genre will definitely want to hear Dianne’s music.

“Flameborn” is released on October 17th and features:
Marcela Bovio (Stream of PassionAyreon) in duet with Dianne.
Christian Hersmdörfer (Beyond the BlackSerenity) on guitar.
Steven Wussow (Orden Ogan, ex Xandria) on bass guitar.
Ariën van Weesenbeek (EpicaMayan) on drums.

On the 13 of September 2022, exactly 5 years after her departure from Xandria, Dianne van Giersbergen announced her return into symphonic metal through the creation of her own solo album: “Soulward Bound”. An album under her own name “Dianne”.

Her album title “Soulward Bound” embodies the drive and devotion that guided Dianne on her journey towards finding herself again. To have the album mirror her journey, “Soulward Bound” will be released through a waterfall release strategy: spread out over 5 years, with 2 singles each year. All songs on the album will be co-written and produced by Joost van den Broek and feature many different guest musicians from the genre.
